Five charged with murder, kidnapping of bikie’s relative
Five people, including four 17-year-old boys, were charged with the alleged murder and kidnapping of the relative of a cycling club president.
Police allege the group broke into Patrick Longordo’s South Morang home around 3 a.m. on May 15 and dragged him out of his home and into a waiting car.
The group then allegedly killed Longordo and dumped his body in a park in Tarneit, an hour’s drive away, at around 4.30am.
Police also allege the vehicle used to kidnap Longordo was set on fire on Mt Mary Road in Eynesbury that morning. Longordo was a relative of the longtime Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang chapter leader and was known to police.
Two children and another man were in the home at the time of the attack, but they were not physically injured.
Investigators executed eight search warrants at homes in Melbourne’s outer west on Wednesday morning, including Wyndham Vale, Mambourin, Werribee and Tarneit.
“Members of the Special Operations Group detained a 23-year-old man from Truganina at his home address,” a police spokesman said.
“Four 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man were also detained.”
The 17- and 23-year-olds were all charged with murder, kidnapping, aggravated trespass and criminal damage by fire.
The 18-year-old man, from Point Cook, was charged with assisting criminals and criminal damage by fire.
The 23-year-old and the 18-year-old will be tried in the magistrates’ court on Thursday morning, while the four 17-year-old boys will be tried in the children’s court.
