Authorities are launching an investigation after five people were killed in a violent stabbing on a street in Washington state on Tuesday.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) confirmed to FOX 13 Seattle that a 32-year-old male suspect, who has not been publicly identified, was killed in Purdy, as well as four adult victims. reported.

The report stated that three of the victims died at the scene and the fourth died in the hospital.

It was determined that the suspect was shot as a result of the intervention of the deputies and died at the scene.

The incident occurred just after 8:45 a.m. local time when the sheriff’s office was called about a man who had broken into a home in Purdy in violation of a no-contact order, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the warrant after multiple witnesses reported a man “stabbing people” outside the home around 9:30 a.m., according to the report.

The suspect was shot by deputies just three minutes later, authorities said.
