B. Dinesh, Director, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, Bengaluru, said that plans are afoot to construct an additional hospital building with a capacity of 200 beds in Mysuru.
Speaking after attending the ‘Hridaya Taranga’ program commemorating the 15th anniversary of Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru on Saturday, Dr. Dinesh said that the number of patients served by the hospital is increasing day by day.
Recalling the dedication shown by the former Director of the hospital, CN Manjunath, in the construction of the institution, Dr. Dinesh urged the doctors and staff to ensure that the hospital’s reputation remains untarnished. He said the institute was committed to safeguarding the interests and welfare of its 3,500-strong staff.
Dr. Dinesh assured that he will work to regularize the employment of all staff and said an insurance cover of ₹5 lakh will be extended to the families of hospital staff.
He stated that he is working to set up one hospital in each of the five metropolitan areas of Bengaluru, as well as one hospital in three districts of the state.
Medical Superintendent of Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru KS Sadananda said that the Mysuru facility has treated a total of 16 lakh patients so far. “We have treated 40,000 inpatients, performed 75,000 cath lab procedures, 4,000 surgeries, 73,000 echocardiograms and 10 lakh ECG tests,” Mr. Sadananda said. He added that Jayadeva Hospital’s Mysuru facility serves Mysuru and surrounding districts.
