Five people fighting for life after horror multi-car and motorbike crash in Mount Tamborine

Five people are fighting for their lives after a collision between several cars and motorcycles in southeast Queensland left two people trapped in their vehicles.

Emergency services were called to Tamborine Mountain Road in Tamborine Mountain at around 10.40am on Sunday following reports that two cars and a motorbike had collided.

Police said a car was traveling eastbound when it collided with a motorcycle and was struck by another car coming from the opposite direction.

A QAS spokesperson told NewsWire there were “multiple medical teams” and three rescue helicopters were called to the scene following reports that six people were injured and two were trapped.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered “multi-system trauma” and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A man and a woman, both in their 70s, suffered life-threatening injuries while being taken to hospital by ambulance.

The man was initially trapped in the vehicle and had to be released before being taken to hospital.

Three people in their 20s, who were in another vehicle, were also injured in the accident.

One suffered chest, neck, abdominal and possible spinal cord injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Another suffered chest, abdominal and pelvis injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 20s was trapped in the vehicle with facial injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
