‘F**king go bro’: Tense moment cop allegedly shoves homeless man in Sydney’s west

Footage captured the moment a police officer cursed and pushed a homeless man in Sydney’s west; This led to calls for the incident to be investigated by the police.

Video shared on social media captured an incident on the High Street in Penrith on Tuesday afternoon.

A male police officer was caught after allegedly pushing a man and saying “damn you, brother”.

After the man returns to his car, a female officer adds, “Take your things and leave immediately.”

As the male police officer said “thank you sir” and the man started to drive away, the officer grabbed his arm and asked “before we go, what is your name?”

A NSW Police spokesman said they were aware of the video and that officers’ body images were being reviewed.

“NSWPF is aware of a social media video showing an interaction between two police officers and a man in Penrith on Tuesday 23 June 2026,” the spokesperson told NewsWire.

“The body damage footage captured by two police officers of the incident was reviewed by the Commander,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman said the two officers were on the High Street on an unrelated matter when a man began behaving aggressively towards people before a business owner asked the man to leave.

The man allegedly did not comply with instructions to proceed but did so “after further interaction with police.”

On Sunday, Melissa McIntosh called for a review of the matter.

“Many people have expressed their concerns to me about an incident involving a male police officer and a homeless man on the High Street in Penrith today,” Ms McIntosh wrote.

“I will provide an update to those who contacted my office via email as soon as I hear back.

“Thank you for looking out for each other. More broadly, there are too many people in our community who are experiencing homelessness and making it difficult.”
