Florida man accused of throwing hundreds of nails into roads almost 30 times

Felix Uresti, 51, was arrested on Tuesday after being caught red handed I dump the rig on a road in Valrico, about 15 miles east of Tampa.
According to the report, deputies watched Uresti exit his white 2022 Toyota Tundra and drive a nail onto a road along Miller Road and then took him into custody. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation into Uresti began on Sept. 11 of last year when the Sheriff’s Office received a call that hundreds of nails were strewn across South Miller Road and Lithia Center Road.
The ministry said 27 additional incidents were reported in the same area over the next five months.

During a search of Uresti’s vehicle Tuesday, deputies discovered the same roofing nails used at previous locations in a large nail bucket in the backseat.
He is charged with six felonies totaling $1,000 or more, including launching a deadly missile at, into, or into a vehicle and violating Florida’s litter law.

“Throwing nails into the roadway is an intentional and malicious act that endangers innocent people and has serious consequences,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.
“This was a senseless decision that endangered working families, children, and first responders when seconds mattered most.”
