Florida man accused of throwing hundreds of nails into roads almost 30 times

The ministry said 27 additional incidents were reported in the same area over the next five months.

During a search of Uresti’s vehicle Tuesday, deputies discovered the same roofing nails used at previous locations in a large nail bucket in the backseat.
He is charged with six felonies totaling $1,000 or more, including launching a deadly missile at, into, or into a vehicle and violating Florida’s litter law.

“Throwing nails into the roadway is an intentional and malicious act that endangers innocent people and has serious consequences,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.
“This was a senseless decision that endangered working families, children, and first responders when seconds mattered most.”
