This evening’s milestone game was also a special moment for Diehard fans – many of them witnessed the first match of the league in 2017.
Teacher Louise Noonan cheered at the stands and remembered that he had joined the opening game with a group of staff eight years ago.
Noonan said he had never had a football fan before, but his students were very excited about women’s feet, so he decided to join
“Walking to the ground was very exciting and emotional, Noonan said.
Im I was very pleased to be there to see this and tell my current and future students. I cried when the actors came out.
“The next week, after talking at school, I decided to find out if there were women’s teams in my region.”
At that time, the 39 -year -old Ivanhoe women joined the Elderly team and played the first Footy match.
“To be honest, it was the most tense but exciting moment in my adult life! Even though my nose was broken in the first 15 minutes of my first match.
“Without AFLW, my identity and life would be quite different,” he continued.
“That’s why I’m very grateful because we have this Comp.”
