Footy player fighting for life after suffering head injuries during game at Lalor Reserve

A local football player is fighting for his life after being seriously injured during a match in Melbourne’s north.
Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance and Advanced Life Support paramedics were called to Lalor Reserve shortly before 1pm on Saturday after a player was injured in the men’s reserve match between Lalor and Epping.
The 27-year-old suffered head injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
Epping Football Netball Club said both reserve and senior matches were canceled following the player’s injury.
“We will provide updates on the situation when appropriate,” the statement said.
“For now, we extend our sincere thoughts to everyone and sincerely thank everyone who helped during and after the incident.”
