Former Federal Liberal Party Vice President Teena McQueen has died
Former Federal Liberal Party Deputy Leader Teena McQueen has died just a month after her high-profile departure to One Nation.
The former Sky News commentator died on Wednesday following a short illness, according to the news outlet.
Ms McQueen hit the headlines in May when she announced she was joining Pauline Hanson’s One Nation alongside former Liberal heavyweight Hollie Hughes.
Speaking to Sky, Liberal leader Julian Leeser said Ms McQueen was a “huge figure” on the NSW Central Coast and in the party.
“Obviously I’m saddened by his passing. He was always a lively person and busy partying,” he said.
“I am very saddened by this news, as will the Liberals generally.”
NSW Liberal leader Kellie Sloane said in a social media post that she was “saddened to hear of the passing of Teena McQueen.”
“Teena was a force of nature in Australian politics – passionate, outspoken and fiercely committed to the causes and values she believed in,” he said.
“He devoted years to the Liberal Party. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.”
