Former Little House on The Prairie child star still sporting same iconic locks at 59… see him now

A star from the original Little House on the Prairie series was spotted during a rare outing as the beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder series prepares for a reboot.
Matthew Labyorteaux, 59, who plays Albert Quinn Ingalls, was spotted in Los Angeles on Thursday, sporting the same hairstyle his character sports on the hit series.
His lush jet black hair resembled the same bouffant he rocked on the small screen while portraying Charles and Caroline Ingalls’ adopted son.
The series has been something of a family affair for Labyorteaux, whose older brother Patrick Labyorteaux plays Andrew ‘Andy’ Garvey on the series.
While Labyorteaux’s hairstyle didn’t change much, she wore much more modern clothing than the Western-style clothing her character once wore.
Labyorteaux was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, gray sweatpants, and had his keys around his neck.

That same day, Netflix released a teaser for the upcoming reboot of the series; The series now stars Luke Bracey as Charles ‘Pa’ Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline ‘Ma’ Ingalls, Alice Halsey as Laura and Skywalker Hughes as Laura’s older sister Mary.
The trailer gave fans a hint of the adventures that await the Ingalls family.
‘Once upon a time, my mother and father, Mary and Laura, left the big woods of Wisconsin and moved to the prairies where a new life awaited them,’ a young girl recounts.
‘Every day and every night was an adventure, but even though they were all alone and so small against the sky and the stars, they were happy because they were a family and they were together.’
Based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved series of children’s novels (she is portrayed in the series by Melissa Gilbert), the show premiered in September 1974 and ran for nine seasons.
Little House on the Prairie follows the adventures of the Ingalls family as they build a farmhouse and life in the 19th-century Midwest.
It’s been more than 40 years since the long-running original series wrapped its final run after nine seasons in 1984.
The reboot was announced last year and Hollywood Reporter, Jinny Howe, Netflix’s vice president of drama series, explained that the series will be “a new take on this iconic story.”
Howe also praised showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine for bringing ’emotional depth that will delight both new and existing fans of this beloved classic.’
The 59-year-old actor was spotted on the day the trailer for the remake of Little House on the Prairie was released.

‘I fell deeply in love with these books when I was five years old. “They inspired me to become a writer and filmmaker, and I’m honored and excited to adapt these stories for a new global audience with Netflix,” Sonnenshine said of the upcoming project.
The new reboot will release on the streamer on July 9, 2026.

‘Little House works on television because of him,’ he said. Landon died in 1991.
Arngrim, who plays Nellie Oleson on the series, was ready to take on a new role in the Little House reboot: her mother.
‘I always joke that I’d be ready to play Mrs Oleson if they did the whole thing again. “Absolutely, I’m up for it,” he bragged.
