Former priest Chris Brain faces retrial on sex assault charges

An old priest who is convicted of abuse of members of a “cult -like” church group will face a second hearing next year.
In the 1980s and 1990s, 68 -year -old Chris Brain directed nine hours in Sheffield (NOS).
Last month, he was found guilty of 17 inappropriate attacks against nine women. A jury in Inner London Crown Court cleared it more than 15 more suitable attacks, but did not make any decision on four inappropriate attacks and one rape.
Prosecutor Tim Clark KC said in a statement on Thursday that the Royal Prosecutor’s Office Service was looking for a renovation against the remaining charges. The court heard that it was planned to start on September 1, 2026 and is expected to last for about four weeks.
Five extraordinary accusations are about four women who blend live music and multiple media exhibitions in services and attracting hundreds of young people to their congregation.
A case administration hearing to discuss the punishment of the brain for the accusations he was guilty was determined for October 2.
The brain from Park Road in Cheshire, Wilmslow was rapidly watched by the Church of England for priests by the UK Church as NOS’s popularity grew in 1991.
However, the movement collapsed in 1995 after claiming that some women were abused by the brain.
At the end of the brain’s hearing, the bishop of Sheffield presented the victims a “unprotected apology” for “a terrible abuse of power and leadership that should never happen.”
