Former US NSA Jake Sullivan DESTROYS Trump, Says His Tariffs Push India Closer To China | India News

Former US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, criticized Donald Trump’s latest trade policies, claiming that heavy tariffs against India have damaged America’s international reputation and made China look more reliable on the global stage.
Sullivan at Bulwark Podcast said that China’s stance with many countries has improved significantly and has overcome the US in popularity compared to the previous year. According to Sullivan, while government leaders in Europe and Asia are now more and more unreliable, China is more responsible and thoughtful in global affairs.
“China has been in front of the United States in popularity in many countries, and a year ago, it was not like that, saying that the countries are basically in the toilet and that China is a more responsible player. So this seems to be one of my friends who I heard from my friends who continue to work in these governments in Europe.

Pointing to India, Sullivan said that Washington has long been working on a bilateral basis to strengthen the ties with the new Delhi to resist China’s challenge. However, Trump argued that aggressive trade measures undermine this effort.
Sullivan, “Take a look at India as another example. I mean, I mean, there is a country where we are trying to establish a deeper and more sustainable relationship in bilaterally, and Chinese difficulty emerges in a great way.

Trump’s 50% tariff
Sullivan’s words come days after Trump’s 50% tariff in India entered into force. Washington initially refers to unjust trade practices and brought 25% tariff to India. Days later, Trump brought 25% more tariffs to the new Delhi because Russian crude oil refused to stop imports.
PM Modi’s visit to China
Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to China on Saturday for a two -day visit and pointed out his first trip to the country in seven years. Prime Minister Modi is in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin. In addition to the summit, Prime Minister Modi will hold meetings with President Xi Jinping, President Putin and other leaders between the summit.
Before going to China, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that stable, predictable and friendly bilateral relations between India and China, as two neighboring and two largest countries in the world, may have a positive impact on regional and global peace and prosperity. He added that this is also very important for a very polar Asia and a very polar world.
