Founder of Ron Jon Surf Shop dies at age 88
Founder Ron Jon Surf Shop, Ron Dimenna died on September 6, the company announced on Sunday. He was 88 years old.
In 1959, Dimenna founded a company by selling surfboard from the trunk of his car. In 1961, he opened a small Ron Jon Surf Shop on Long Beach Island on the shore of New Jersey. Two years later, he moved to Florida and opened a small Ron Jon Surf Shack with a ground floor in the Monster Pier.
