Four Children From Same Family Drown in Manjeera Water

The drowning of four children from the same family in the Manjeera River on Friday cast a gloom over Budimi village in Kamareddy district, Banswada mandal.
After lunch, the children took a dip in the water and participated in Yellamma Sambaram until the afternoon. Within minutes they were caught in the swirling waters and drowned. All four children were under the age of 10.
In another incident, four others named Anita, Pavani, Srivani and Bhanu belonging to Bollakpalli in Pitlam mandal also drowned in Manjeera River.
A woman who witnessed four women being swept away by the fast current tried to save them but was seriously injured. People around immediately rescued the woman. The bodies of 4 drowned people were also found.
The police registered the incident and started investigating.
