Four Held in Karimnagar Robbery Case

Karimnagar: In a breakthrough in the robbery at PMJ Jewelery showroom, Karimnagar police detained four suspects from Bihar and West Bengal. The gang allegedly escaped with 1.5 kg of gold in a carefully planned operation on May 3. Investigators say it looks like a high-stakes crime thriller.

Police said the accused, who hail from different areas, were recruited online through a website specifically for the robbery. After being selected, they went separately to Karimnagar to carry out the pre-planned robbery.

Initial investigations indicate that the operation was planned and monitored remotely by a gang operating from a Bihar prison, with instructions being relayed to the recruits from behind bars.

The investigation gained momentum after police tracked down a gold dealer in West Bengal who had purchased stolen ornaments from one of the accused. This led to the arrest of the first suspect and subsequently three other suspects in Bihar.

Investigators said the five-member gang later split after entering Maharashtra and sold their gold shares at different places. While four suspects are in custody, the alleged mastermind, Shabuddin Pathan, remains at large.

Police have intensified efforts to nab Pathan and said a detailed statement regarding the arrest and recovery of the stolen gold will be made once all the accused are nabbed and the property secured.
