Four-year-old girl missing in Nandyal found safe after overnight search

Nandyal police carried out a night-long search on the outskirts of the town on Sunday night (July 19, 2026) to trace the missing 4-year-old girl and found her in farmlands on Monday morning (July 20, 2026).
Superintendent of Police Suneel Sheoran said that the complainant, B. Kalyani, a resident of YSR Nagar in Nandyal town, noticed that her four-year-old daughter Pranavi was missing around 7 pm. Ms. Kalyani initiated a search in the immediate area and reported the matter to the authorities at 9 pm. You can reach the police at the emergency number 112.
Nandyal police then launched a massive search operation in areas around YSR Nagar and checked every street and the surroundings of every house.
Examining the footage from surrounding security cameras, the police found the girl walking alone towards agricultural fields. Mr Sheoran visited the scene and supervised the search operation.
Night vision drone cameras were deployed, detection dogs deployed and special teams of nearly 100 police officers searched areas near YSR Nagar, including canals and agricultural areas. Nearby residents also participated in the search efforts.
“Pranavi was found in fields outside YSR Nagar and handed over to her mother. Pranavi was found two kilometers away from where she was last seen on CCTV footage,” Mr. Sheoran said. He said the girl was rescued safely after the mother reported her missing to Dial-112.
