Fox News Channel outdraws CNN, MSNC during election week

During election week, Americans relied on Fox News Channel for information and analysis on key races in Virginia, New Jersey and New York City.
Fox News finished the week of November 3rd at No. 1 among all cable programs, averaging 1.4 million daily viewers.
Fox News became the only cable network to surpass the one-million-viewer mark; MSNBC came in second with an average of 695,000 viewers, followed by ESPN with 637,000 viewers. CNN managed just 487,000 average viewers.

During prime time, Fox News averaged 2.2 million viewers, while No. 2 ESPN had 1.5 million viewers. MSNBC settled for 1.3 million and CNN finished with 786,000; Fox News topped the liberal networks in both total daily and total prime time viewers.
When it comes to the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults ages 25 to 54, Fox News averaged 132,000 viewers per day on CNN and MSNBC in both categories, and 220,000 in prime time.
On election night, Fox News averaged 2.92 million prime time viewers, to MSNBC’s 2.88 million total viewers and CNN’s 1.9 million viewers, according to the Nielsen Big Data + Panel. The night was marked by big Democratic victories in major races, including the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races, and the election of Zohran Mamdani as the next mayor of New York City.
Fox News’ election night broadcasts also outpaced NBC in 23 of the 25 largest markets, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington D.C.
During the major news cycle, “The Five” was No. 1 in cable news, averaging 3.6 million viewers, while “Hannity” took the demo title from the coveted group with 311,000 viewers.

“Special Report with Bret Baier,” “Ingraham Angle,” “Jesse Watters Primetime,” “Gutfeld!” and “FOX News @ Night with Trace Gallagher” also helped Fox News stay ahead of the competition.
Actually “Gutfeld!” CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” averaged 2.6 million viewers. left their programs behind. and NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
There were no signs of fatigue in viewers following Election Day, as Wednesday’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” special interview with Erika Kirk averaged 3.1 million viewers and 295,000 in the demo.

Fox News also saw strong performances from “The Will Cain Show,” “America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino,” “Outnumbered,” “The Faulkner Focus,” Martha MacCallum’s “The Story” and “America Reports with John Roberts and Sandra Smith;” all of which had larger audiences than NBC’s “Today with Jenna and Friends” and “NBC News Daily.”
Kayleigh McEnany’s “Saturday in America” finished at No. 1 on Saturday, averaging 1.4 million viewers, and Maria Bartiromo’s “Sunday Morning Futures” took the Sunday crown with 1.5 million viewers.
