France to recognise Palestinian state at UN general assembly, Macron says | France

Emmanuel Macron said he would recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in France in September.
The French President said that he hoped that he would bring peace to the region on Thursday evening.
Macron published a letter sent to Mahmud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian authority, and confirmed France’s intention to be the first great Western power to recognize the Palestinian state.
Macron, “I decided that France will recognize the Palestinian province when he remained faithful to a fair and permanent peace in the Middle East.”
“I will make this serious announcement at the United Nations General Assembly next September.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that France’s decision was “rewarded terror” and the risk of creating another Iranian deputy, just like Gaza.
“Let’s be open: The Palestinians are not looking for a state with Israel; they are looking for a state instead of Israel,” he added.
The decision is likely to lead to anger in Washington. In a diplomatic cable in June, the United States said that he opposed steps that would unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state.
Despite the pressure of not doing this, Macron had led to recognizing a Palestinian state for months as part of the attempt to keep the idea of a two -state solution alive.
The French authorities initially weighed the Movement before a UN conference, where France and Saudi Arabia plans to have a joint owner in June, and provided parameters for a way to a Palestinian state while providing Israel’s security.
The conference was postponed under the US pressure, and after the 12-day Israeli-Iran air war began, it made it difficult for the representatives of some Arab states to participate in the regional airspace.
On July 28 and 29, a ministerial event was planned and dropped, and in September, the UN General Assembly will take place with the heads of states and heads of government.
French officials said in recent weeks that Macron had decided to recognize a Palestinian state and would decide to timbre. France weighed when it would have a positive effect and when it would make an announcement in order to create acceleration in the Middle East crisis.
The decision to make an announcement before the conference of the next week aimed to give the French team to the French team a framework to work with other countries who are considering recognizing the Palestinian state or still have mistakes.
Diplomats say Macron faces the resistance of allies, such as Britain and Canada to recognize a Palestinian state. Next week will be about 40 foreign ministers in New York.
Hüseyin Al-Sheikh, Vice President of Palestinian Authority, thanked France, and in X, Macron’s decision reflects the commitment of France to the international law and the support of the Palestinian people to determine their own destiny and the support of our independent state ”.
Although France was the most important European power to recognize a Palestinian state, others implied that they could do the same.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that he would organize a call with his colleagues in Germany and France about his efforts to stop the war on Friday, and the ceasefire would lead us to the recognition of a Palestinian state.
Norway, Spain, Ireland and Slovenia, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza announced that it was known in 2024.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who already recognized Palestinian state of Palestinian state, welcomed Macron’s announcement. Saudi Arabia accepted the announcement as “history ..
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said: “The kingdom praises this historical decision, which re -confirms the unity of the Palestinian people on the right of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent state.” He said.
In a statement on Thursday, the president of the main UN agency serving the Palestinians said that the facade personnel fainted from hunger because he hoped that the ceasefire decreased when the number of people who died of starvation in Gaza continues to rise and the negotiations collapsed.
