Frankston teen allegedly assaults paramedic after crash in a stolen car

A 19-year-old man allegedly attacked a paramedic who was helping an injured teenager after a collision with a stolen vehicle.
Police allege the teenager was traveling with three other people in a stolen Mazda 3 when the vehicle collided with a Volkswagen Jetta at the junction of Nicholson St and Victoria Parade in Carlton just before 6am on Saturday.
Two boys from the Mazda fled the scene, but a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were injured in the crash.
“The (older) youth attacked a paramedic on his way to hospital, who needed treatment for his injuries,” a police spokesman said.
“The Mazda is believed to have been stolen from Mulgrave on March 21.”
A 66-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman from Terang, who were traveling in the Volkswagen, were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police are searching for two children who ran away from the crash and have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact Crime Stoppers.
