IIT Roorkee has announced the JEE Advanced 2026 exam date for May 17. Eligible candidates include top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers. The computer-based exam will include two papers covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Detailed exam centers and models will be published soon.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee has released the schedule of JEE Advanced 2026 exam. Aspiring candidates can access official dates and updates on the website jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date and Timings

The exam is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026 and will be conducted in computer-based testing (CBT) format. The exam consists of two papers:

  • Paper 1: 09:00 – 12:00
  • Paper 2: 14:30 – 17:30

Both the papers will be conducted at multiple testing centers and IIT Roorkee is expected to release the detailed center list soon.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2026

Candidates must meet the following conditions in order to take the exam:

  • Be among the top 2.5 lakh qualifying participants of JEE Main 2026.
  • Those born on or after 1 October 2000 (with a 5-year exemption for reserved categories).
  • Have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025.

Note: Each candidate is allowed a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.

Expected Exam Model

Even though IIT Roorkee has not officially announced the JEE Advanced 2026 paper format, it is expected to follow the structure of previous years:

  • Mode: Computer-based exam
  • Medium: English and Hindi
  • Number of Papers: 2 (Paper 1 and Paper 2)
  • Duration: 3 hours per article (4 hours for EB candidates)
  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics in both articles
  • Total Questions: 54 (18 questions per topic)
  • Marking Scheme: Full, partial and zero marks depending on accuracy

JEE Main 2026 Schedule

JEE Main 2026 schedule is also important for candidates preparing for JEE Advanced:

  • Session 1: 21 – 30 January 2026
  • Session 2: 2 – 9 April 2026

Candidates who qualify these sessions will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026.
