French skydiving plane crashes near Nancy, reportedly killing all 11 onboard | France

A parachute plane crashed in northeastern France, killing all 11 people on board, according to the regional governor.

Yves Séguy, governor of the Meurthe-et-Moselle region, said the skydiving school plane crashed near Nancy at 11 a.m.

According to the governor’s office, the pilot and 10 passengers, including five students and five instructors, lost their lives.

Séguy said: “The plane carrying 11 people suddenly crashed right next to the airport. There were no injuries.”

He said emergency services responded immediately and authorities collected witness statements.

French interior minister Laurent Nuñez was on his way to the scene, his staff said.
