From Delhi to Bengaluru, India Celebrates New Year 2026 With Fireworks

New Delhi: Fireworks lit up the night sky and streets were filled with celebrations as people across India welcomed the New Year 2026 with enthusiasm, prayers and public gatherings. The arrival of the New Year was celebrated with joy and music from Delhi to Bengaluru and Amritsar.
Dazzling fireworks lit up the night sky in Goa as locals and tourists gathered at popular party venues to celebrate the New Year. This year, as every year, the coastal state witnessed enthusiastic celebrations where hotels and shacks hosted special events.
In Mumbai, people celebrated the arrival of New Year 2026 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus as the clock struck midnight.
In the hills of Himachal Pradesh, people welcomed the New Year 2026 in Dharamshala; It seemed that the cold weather did not affect the festive spirit much. Similarly, tourists in Sonamarg, Jammu and Kashmir also welcomed the New Year amidst snow-covered landscapes, bursting fireworks and clicking pictures.
Central India also witnessed grand celebrations where people in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh welcomed the New Year with fireworks and danced to Bollywood music at special events.
In southern India, large crowds were seen celebrating with fireworks, music and late-night festivities at key locations in Hyderabad. In Bengaluru, fireworks once again lit up the skyline as residents celebrated the start of 2026 as authorities maintained security and traffic regulations in India’s Silicon Valley.
New Delhi witnessed New Year celebrations at prominent places like Connaught Place and India Gate, where crowds gathered to welcome 2026.
In Amritsar, devotees flocked to pray and seek blessings at Shri Harmandir Sahib as the clock struck midnight to usher in the New Year.
While citizens across India welcomed the New Year 2026 with optimism by celebrating it with their families and friends, police teams in each state worked to maintain law and order in their areas to prevent any untoward incident.
