From Struggle to Strength!

In 1947, as India shook itself from the colonial chains, half of its population-women-still rooted patriarchal, inequality and illiteracy. Nevertheless, Indian women made India proud by winning the Olympic medals, serving as key figures in policy making, and even leading the leading space tasks.

Today, 79 years after independence, women continue to walk from margins to the mainstream. This is not a story of progress, the story of courage. These women are not those who survive, but as exchangers!

In many countries, progress is slow, but some developing countries see incremental developments. ”

Change Defenders

My journey to the law profession is not a ‘call’, but my brother Adv as an alternative career choice. Surresh Chandrashekhar and now my husband Adv. Bruno Castellino, Bombay Supreme Court and Interactive Lawyer Women’s Association Meeting Lawyer Anita Shekhar Castellino.

Today, 35 years later, the Adv Anita is a challenging figure in legal brotherhood, not just as a woman, but as a commander who commands the courtroom. In 2018, ADV was called a key person to establish the first Creche facility of the automatic sanitary pad vending automats established in Bombay HC in Lady Advocates in the joint room of Lady Advocates, and to make suggestions about the Shakti bill, which entered into force by Maharashtra in 2021 by Maharashtra in 2021. Anita Shekhar Castellino is a force to consider.

His journey continues to be encouraged by a buddy advocate, especially his family (Annie Shekhar) and his daughter (Malaika Castellino), a budding defender. However, things were not pink. As a young law student, Anita was aware of a prominent imbalance. The rate of women entering the case was deeply distorted. “It was clear that women were not easily accepted by plaintiffs, companies and even women in the open court in practice, but by the law firms that deem most appropriate for table affairs.”

This is not affected by the innate prejudice, Adv. Anita turned the belief that women somehow ‘not good enough’ to argue in court into their greatest powerful sides and motivation.

Totally armed

Not only the law, but also women in the armed forces are at the forefront. “I grew up with deep love for my country. My grandfather was a fighter of freedom. He filled his stories with the dream of serving the nation.” An old Indian army officer Captain (DR) says Sunaina Singh. Captain Sunaina shares her experience in the intelligence corps unit. Strong work is called adaptability and a deep sense of task for the country.

“Being the first female officer from my country was not just a success, but it was also a responsibility I chose to carry with dignity and determination.” A young Sunaina knew that one day would always serve India and would be proud of India. Captain Sunaina, a child born in an army -guided family, was fascinated by the pride from wearing discipline, respect and uniform.

The army is a very structured and tradition -oriented organization, so there is no change overnight. It takes time, but it stays well after doing it once. ”

Fighting Prejudices

Shaina NC is a strong voice in the field of politics and fashion. When Shaina entered Indian politics, she did not expect to be underestimated only because of her fashion history. However, he soon discovered that respect for women in politics was not freely given. Should be won, fight or sometimes close and keep.

“Even today, women in public life, even today, are treated as they should not be heard in the living room.” Says. Politics, a male -dominated region, tend to be extremely challenging for women. “Women are usually allowed to be in the room, but rarely allowed to be in the center of decision -making, Shaina adds. However, he still remembers a advice from Sadguru to resonance with him. “What he says is staying with me even today – no woman should play the bechari card. Rather, he should show the competence card that you can withstand.”

Even today, women in public life are treated as pots that should not be heard, should not be heard in the living room. ”

Time time

Women have come a long way. Shaina believes that it is time for society to confront an undeniable reality: women have their own minds and can contribute to the legislation and public service in a meaningful way with the necessary diligence, competence and honesty.

Speaking of discrimination, Captain Sunaina said, “The army is a very structured and tradition -oriented organization, so change does not take place overnight. It takes time, but once, it remains good.” When he initially joined the armed forces, he had waves of hesitation from the people around him because many of them did not imagine a woman to join the armed forces. However, despite the captain Sunaina, gender gaps and prejudices, it is optimistic that competence invalidates other obstacles.

ADV. Anita thinks that women’s legal graduates are generally not represented in the best courts and law firms despite the increase every year. “In many countries, progress is slow, but some developing countries see incremental developments.” For example, today, many women defenders are common in the best law firms and are the leaders of legal reform committees.

Strong changes

Perhaps the biggest change is that Indian women no longer expect permission. Not only as participants, they claim their place as a leader. Captain Sunaina said, “One of the most special and contributing stages of my career was to send it with NCC.” Captain Sunaina shaped, guides, motivates and watching young students.

ADV. Anita shares how ILAW, including female defenders and senior consultants in different courts of the state, is effective in providing a platform for women in the legal field. Today, the community, which started with less than 100 members, has approximately 800 strong women.

India may have gained independence in 1947, but for millions of women, even today, the real journey to freedom continues. However, many women do not only survive within the system, but also reshape.
