Full details of Harriet Phillips’ wedding tiara that has surprising history | Royal | News

Harriet was wearing a custom Emilia Wickstead design that was “developed from first sketch to final creation,” according to the designer’s latest Instagram post. Completing her stunning look, Harriet wore her diamond and pearl wedding tiara, a jewel with a surprising royal history, on her special day.

Her tiara was a delicate pearl and diamond creation borrowed from British jeweler Pragnell, who made her engagement ring.

The stunning piece dates back to the 1937 coronation of her husband’s great-grandfather, King George VI.

In a statement, the jeweler said: “This intricate tiara dazzles, displaying a design typical of both the Edwardian and Deco periods that is so rare in all jewellery.

“The diamonds feature a cluster of sparkling laurel leaves and articulated floral motifs that bear a striking resemblance to the tiara worn by the Princess Royal in the official photograph celebrating her fiftieth birthday in 2000.

“Owned by the Pragnell family and preferred as a bridal headpiece, this elegant tiara has been worn by members of the Pragnell family for generations and was present at the coronations of both King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.”

The pictures were shared with a long caption that included details such as how long it took to build.

The statement reads: “Harriet’s wedding dress is a bespoke Emilia Wickstead design that was developed from initial sketch to final creation, installed in our private salon on Sloane Street and made entirely by our in-house team in our West London workshop. The dress took one hundred and forty hours to make…”
