Funeral with State honours for Aalin, Kerala’s youngest organ donor

The funeral of the state’s youngest organ donor, 10-month-old Aalin Sherin Abraham, will be held with State ceremony at St.Thomas CSI Church in Nedungadappally in Kottayam at 3 pm on Sunday.
By donating the organs of the baby whose young life was taken away too early by fate, his parents made a deep sacrifice, showing an extraordinary example of compassion and humanity.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and many prominent citizens wrote emotional notes on Facebook, hailing the parents’ decision as a noble act that defies words. As a mark of respect for the soul of the deceased and in recognition of this noble deed, the government directed District Collector Pathanamthitta to place wreaths at the baby’s mortal remains on behalf of the Chief Minister and the State government.
The Regional Police Chief was also instructed to salute the soul of the deceased with a trumpet.
