Andy Carroll: Former Newcastle, Liverpool and England striker due in court after arrest

Former Newcastle United, Liverpool and England forward Andy Carroll will appear in court on Tuesday after being accused of breaching a non-harassment order.
Carroll, 36, who currently plays for National League South side Dagenham and Redbridge, was arrested in April for the crime, which was allegedly committed a month earlier.
The 36-year-old football player, who played nine times for England and transferred to Liverpool for a record fee of £ 35 million in 2011, is expected to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
Essex Police said: “A man has been charged with breaching a non-harassment order. Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27 and the alleged offenses relate to an incident in March. He will appear at Chelmsford magistrates’ court on December 30.”
A non-harassment order is a court order usually issued to prevent a person from contacting another person and may also prevent someone from coming within a certain distance of a certain address or place of business.
Penalties for breaching a non-harassment order range from a fine to up to five years’ imprisonment in the most serious cases.
