Akram’s father, Sajid, 50, was shot dead by police during the attack, which police claimed was inspired by ISIS.

Akram was shot in the abdomen and taken to hospital and was taken to Goulburn Supermax prison where he remained in custody before his trial.

He has not yet entered a plea to the charges.

The Bonnyrigg man was also charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, causing the public display of a prohibited terrorist symbol and placing explosives near a building with intent to cause damage.

Akram and his father allegedly had three pipe bombs and a tennis ball bomb in their possession at the time of the attack, according to documents submitted to the court.

The bombs did not explode, and police claimed they were thrown at a group of people in Archer Park before the shooting began.

Akram and his father stayed in an Airbnb in Campsie and allegedly loaded guns into a silver Hyundai Elantra before driving to Bondi.

The couple parked in Campbell Parade, where they removed ISIS flags from the car and placed them on the inside of the front and rear windows, court documents allege.

Two police officers were injured in the clash; Among them was a probationary police officer who lost his sight in one eye.

Police also allege the father and son attended firearms training at a farm in NSW.

They allegedly filmed themselves shooting a shotgun and moving “tactically.”

Police allege the two men filmed themselves in front of an image of the ISIS flag that explained the motivation for the Bondi attack.

Police allege they found a firearm scope, ammunition, a suspected IED, Sajid’s driver’s license and hunting association membership card, 3D printed parts for a shotgun speed loader, a shotgun, firearm parts, bomb-making equipment and two copies of the Quran at the Campsie Airbnb.
