Gaza gets first UN fuel in months amid Israeli strikes

According to the Palestinians, the United Nations has delivered fuel to the Gaza Strip for more than four months, as Israel’s military campaign in the coastal region continued to demand dozens of life.
UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said that 75,000 liters of fuel was delivered to the destroyed Gaza Strip, which hosts hundreds of thousands of people in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
However, he stressed that the amount is well below the necessary.
“The amount entered yesterday is not enough to meet even one -day energy requirements.” He said.
Fuel is critical to strengthening for other basic facilities in hospitals, ovens and settlements under the Israeli blockade.

Dujarric warned about the consequences of ongoing deficiencies: “For example, a partner told us this week that fuel scarcity can cut the ingredients to clean drinking water to approximately 44,000 children connected to this water source.” He said.
Meanwhile, according to reports managed by Hamas referring to medical resources, Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least 55 people on Thursday.
The numbers could not be confirmed independently.
Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli strikes in the city of Deir al-Balah near a medical center, reported that 16 people were killed and targeted more than one area with 10 children.
