Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao inspected the Hennur-Bagalur Road white paving work, JC Road white paving and the newly constructed Hoskerehalli flyover late on the night of November 11.
About 5 km of the Hennur-Bagalur Road within the East City Corporation limits is covered in white. 1 kilometer of it on one side and 600 meters on the other side has been completed. Mr. Rao set a deadline of 25 days to complete another 1.2 km stretch.
Traffic will be restricted on the 1.2 km stretch from Poorna Prajna School to Gubbi Cross and two-way movement will be allowed in the remaining half. Similar phased restrictions will be implemented for sections of 1-1.5 km as approved by the traffic police.
To avoid congestion during the work, the Chief Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North, Traffic) to depute Home Guard officers to ensure that no vehicles are parked along the work zones and traffic flow is managed efficiently.
Mass cleaning drive
Mr. Rao ordered a mass cleaning drive on high-density corridor roads to clear waste, debris and mud from footpaths. “For comprehensive cleaning, jet sprays should be used and cleaning must be maintained constantly,” he said.
Inspection of road repairs
Within the limits of Bengaluru West City Corporation, Chief Commissioner Peenya inspected pothole repair works near Basaveshwara Bus Stand. He directed engineers to ensure repairs met quality standards.
He inspected the asphalting work on Subroto Mukherjee Road within the limits of North City Corporation. He instructed officials to maintain quality by rolling the road surface properly before reopening the road to traffic.
Inspection of JC Road white coating work
White coating work continues in the 1 kilometer area from Minerva Circle to City Hall. While the work of half of the road has been completed and opened to traffic, the remaining 250 meters will be completed within 4 days. Mr. Rao directed the officials to ensure that the work is completed on time.
