Geelong rape case involving high-profile man stood down for witness to receive legal advice

An important court hearing for a high -profile man accused of rape stopped temporarily to take a “independent legal advice”.
The man, which was not defined by a beak order imposed by the court, appeared at the Geelong Magistrate Court next to Patrick Sinnott, who was accused of jointly on Thursday.
Sinnott and other man, Geelong Marketing Manager, were accused of alleged rape and sexual assault in the early hours of February 5, 2023.
The couple faced a hearing that Kimberley Swadesir, the ruler of peace, decides that evidence should be tried.
At the beginning of the hearing, Sinnott’s lawyer, Moira O’Brien marked the “central problem ,, in his case, the reliability of the alleged victim and the chronology of the night in question.
Harrison Martin, who was called to give evidence, told the court that he was a friend with the victim allegedly victim at the end of 2022 and early 2023.
The couple said that he planned a night at Geelong Striptizing Club, where he worked as a bartender on February 4th.
Around 4 am, when the bar called the last drinks, Mr. Martin said he went out to make a phone call and discussed with security and saw a “two defendants”.
The two men shout and argue with the security that explains that the place is “almost closed”.
“We have money to spend, don’t you want us to spend money here,” he said.
Mr. Martin said the two men were approaching the alleged sacrifice and girlfriend later and asking if they wanted to connect and have sex.
He heard the fall of the alleged victim, and at the same time seeing two women flashing men, he said.

Mr. Martin said he was trying to intervene in the court on behalf of his friend, but punched and stopped by the “long one”.
Mrs. O’Brien accused Mr. Martin of lying about the attack he refused, saying that the alleged attack was not caught in CCTV.
O’Brien, “We have, from the moment we come from the moment these gentlemen leave.” He said.
“I give you the opportunity to lie.”
Mr. Martin replied: “I’m not lying”.
He told the court that he had observed that the victim set out in his car with two men in the vehicle.
The court was told that he called Triple-0 at 4.18 and reported his concerns about his safety for being drunk.
Mr. Martin said that he and others he met in the venue went to the house of the alleged victim for being worried about him.
He said he was trying to contact him once by answering the phone once by a man.
“He told me to have fun and then hung up the phone, Mr. Mr. Martin said.
He also said in the background that his friend could hear something along the “step and my head in trouble” line.

The court told the woman that she returned home at 6 am and that Dan Murphy was taken to the parking lot and explained the allegations of sexual assault by two men before going to a house.
Mr. Martin said that when the police arrived, his speech with the woman was short and left.
After a short break at the hearing, Prosecutor Catherine Parkes said Mr. Martin brought up an independent legal advice ”.
He wanted and Ms. Swadesir accepted, the case was postponed until Friday.
In the early hours of the day, James Goodwin and Chloe Falla gave evidence that they had met the alleged victim for the first time in Alley Cat and made a speech.
Mr. Goodwin said he didn’t drink and he agreed to return to the victim’s house with Mr. Martin because he was worried about his safety.
Falla said that when he returned to the house of the alleged victim to the court, he looked “cold, troubled and tired”.
Later, Mr. Goodwin gave evidence that Mr. Martin told him that the victim was lying to the police.
Falla said that the alleged victim was recommended by two men for sex, accepted and consent, but he wanted more money after the action.
Mr. Goodwin said that Mr. Martin was not “directly” by Mr. Martin, who was allegedly lying to the police, but after his speeches with Mr. Martin, he started to feel a little funny or away about the whole situation ”.
Mr. Martin rejected Mr. Goodwin that he had sent such a message.
The court was told that two witnesses were expected to be called on Friday, including a doctor and a police officer who pioneered the investigation.
The alleged victim will give evidence on a later date.
