George Galloway stopped at Gatwick by counter terrorism police
Former deputy George Galloway and his wife Gatwick Airport were stopped by the fight against terrorism.
British Labor Party (WPB) leader Putri Gayatri Pertwi was detained on Saturday morning. Abu Dhabi reportedly returned from Moscow to England.
Metropolitan police said that a man in his 70s was stopped by the anti -terrorism officials under the Council of Terrorism and Border Safety Law of a man in his 40s, but both were arrested and “their ways were allowed.”
Galloway’s party said in a statement that he described as “attempt to scare those who seek friendship rather than hostility with the rest of the world.”
Police said that the stops were made in accordance with Table 3 in the Anti -Terror and Border Security Law 2019.
This allows an officer to stop, question, search, and detain a person in the UK or the border area to determine if they are engaged in hostile activities.
The detained may need to provide information, including passwords on devices. In this case, it is not known whether this is requested.
A Met Police Spokesman: “On Saturday, we can confirm that the anti -terrorist officers at Gatwick Airport stopped a man in the 70s and a woman in his 40s in accordance with the schedule of the Terrorism and Border Safety Law 2019.”
He continued: “Both were not arrested and their ways were allowed.”
The British Labor Party said Galloway was informed and his wife was detained in Gatwick by the police on Saturday morning.
In a later statement about X, 71 -year -old Galloway and his 40 -year -old wife were released free of charge.
He added: “He never had a chance.
“We are blocked from providing legal support and the behavior of the relationship was designed to scare the political opponents of the impulse on war against Russia and China.”
Between 2003 and 2015, Galloway was a deputy of workers until 2003 before he sat as an independent and respectful party deputy for the three election zones between 2003-2015.
