The Independent’s newsletters recognised with two industry awards
Independent It won two awards at the 2026 Publisher Bulletin Awards: Inside Football And Independent Money Recognized as one of the UK’s best newsletters.
Inside FootballWritten by chief football writer Miguel Delaney, it was named best sports newsletter. Independent MoneyWritten by business and money editor Karl Matchett, it won the award for best financial newsletter.
The jury praised Inside Football “An enjoyable and reliable newsletter that plays an impressive role in the publisher’s reader revenue strategy.”

The Publisher Newsletter Awards, organized by Media Voices, celebrate excellence in newsletter publishing across the media industry. This year’s awards attracted hundreds of entries, and winners were selected by a panel of industry judges who evaluated editorial quality, audience engagement, brand identity and audience growth strategies.
Independent it was also shortlisted in many other categories. Independent WomenWritten by regular columnist Victoria Richards and Voices and directed by deputy commentary editor Paul Clements, both were nominated for best individual newsletter (news and current affairs).
Meanwhile, Travel Content shortlisted in the best individual newsletter – specialist category and EnoughWritten by fitness trainer Harry Bullmore, it was recognized in the best health and lifestyle newsletter category.
