Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants finally recaptured that winning feeling on game day, but it came at a price.

With their 34-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, they gave up control of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Raiders now have the pick heading into the regular season finale in Week 18.

The Giants improved to 3-13 on the season, while the Raiders improved to 2-14.

New York entered this game with the worst record in the league, considering the strength of the schedule. Had they lost to the Raiders, the Giants could have clinched the No. 1 pick.

But of course, no team is trying to lose on game day, and the Giants showed that as Geno Smith and the Raiders’ offense advanced in the Giants’ red zone following an interception by linebacker Bobby Okereke in the first quarter.

Five plays later, the Giants turned a turnover into their first points of the game as Devin Singletary scored from one yard out to make it 7-0.

AFTER SEVERE LOSSES, TWO NFL DIVISION TITLES ARE EMERGED IN WEEK 18

The Raiders would respond with a field goal on the next drive, but rookie Dart, who has shined despite the Giants’ results this season, wanted to get back into the end zone. He ran 12 yards up the middle for the first of his two rushing touchdowns in this game.

The Giants took a 17-3 lead before halftime and managed to break their nine-straight losing streak.

However, Smith hoped his touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett would bring the Raiders back into the game, but the ensuing kickoff proved otherwise.

Giants’ cornerback Deonte Banks, who failed to meet these expectations in the first round, showed off his skills in the comeback game and went 95 yards to the goal, making the game 27-10.

The Giants would seal their victory with a 15-play, 75-yard drive that culminated with Darts running into the end zone on fourth-and-1 near the goal line.

Wan’Dale Robinson may not have made it to the end zone for New York, but he did manage to lead the game with 11 receptions for 113 yards in a tremendous performance.

Now the Giants still have a chance to reclaim the No. 1 overall pick, but that involves losing. While the Raiders need to beat the Kansas City Chiefs, they will need to lose to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18.
