Giants’ Kayvon Thibodeaux upset over non-fumble call vs Eagles

The New York Giants lost some momentum early in their loss against the Philadelphia Eagles following a turnover thanks to an early whistle on Jalen Hurts’ hard snap.
Two plays later, the Eagles took a 14-7 lead on Hurts’ touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia won the game 38-20 and continued its dominance over the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field.

When the whistle blew, signaling the end of the game, passer Kayvon Thibodeaux cleared the ball away from Hurts. Referee Brad Rogers said Hurts’ advance was stopped before Thibodeaux made the play. But Hurts was still moving down the field and no part of his body had yet touched the ground.
“(The referee) said they called forward before they got to the ball,” Thibodeaux told reporters. via ESPN. “Sounds like a bull to me.”

After teammate Brian Burns reminded Thibodeaux that he could be fined for his harsh comments about the referees, he changed his mind and admitted that the referees had a difficult job.
“Sorry, it was a great call by the umpires. You can’t attribute the missed calls to anything. I guess we didn’t stop the run. They bowled 50-50 balls and got the best of us,” he added.
Thibodeaux had five tackles, one deflection and one QB hit.
This pressure has been a hotly debated topic throughout the year.

In the last meeting between the two teams, the Eagles made four consecutive drives on one of their touchdown drives. New York won this game earlier this month.
NFL owners are under pressure to ban the game. He survived a vote that would have banned the call during the offseason. It is expected to be visited again next year.
