Giants reportedly trading Dexter Lawrence to Bengals for No. 10 pick

According to multiple reports, the New York Giants are trading defensive star Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for a package that includes the 10th pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

Lawrence, 28, has been seeking a new contract but is also coming off his first season since 2021 in which he missed the Pro Bowl.

Reports have emerged in recent weeks that Lawrence is seeking a trade from New York as new head coach John Harbaugh tries to reshape the team.

The strapping 340-pound defensive lineman was a three-time Pro Bowler and was with the Giants through some tough seasons. Despite this, he has been one of the best defensive players since the team selected him in the first round of the 2019 draft. Clemson’s.

Lawrence has 30½ sacks, 15 pass breakups and 341 tackles in 109 career games with New York.

Last season, Lawrence played in all 17 games for the first time in his career. He had 31 tackles and an interception to go along with half a sack.

The 28-year-old player signed a four-year contract extension worth $87.5 million with the Giants in 2023. He has two years left on his current contract. He will be paid $18.5 million in 2026, or $15.5 million if a new deal is not made.

Now the Giants enter Harbaugh’s first NFL Draft with the 5th and 10th overall picks, and Harbaugh has authority over the team’s draft decisions.
