Girl, 13, arrested on suspicion of murdering woman in house
BBCA 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died inside the house.
Police officers found a woman not breathing when they arrived at the Swindon home at around 19:00 GMT on Friday after receiving a report of disturbance.
The woman, in her 50s, who lived at the address in Baydon Close, Moredon, died at the scene. His relatives were informed.
Wiltshire Police said the 13-year-old girl was later arrested in connection with the incident and detained for questioning about her whereabouts.
A spokesman for the force said there were no other injuries reported and the property had been cordoned off while investigations continued.
Det Insp Darren Ambrose said: “This is a serious incident in which a woman has unfortunately died.”
“We appreciate the concern this may cause in the local community. Please do not hesitate to speak to an officer if you have any concerns.”
He added that police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, but that police presence in the area would be increased.
“We encourage people not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding this incident,” he added.
