A teenage girl was taken to hospital after she was run over by a vehicle in a car park in Wirral. Merseyside Police were called to the Mimosa Tearoom on Green Lane, Eastham, at around 3.50pm on June 20, following reports that a four-year-old girl had been run over by an unattended vehicle in the tearoom’s car park.
When police teams arrived at the scene, the child was taken to the hospital for a medical check-up. The owner of the vehicle remained at the scene and made inquiries to the police teams. While an investigation has been launched into the incident, the police request anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic accident involving a child in a car park in Eastham on Saturday afternoon, June 20.
“At around 15.50, we received a report that a 4-year-old girl was injured when an uncontrolled vehicle ran over her in the Mimosa Tea Garden car park on Green Lane.
“Emergency services arrived and the child was taken to hospital for assessment.
“The owner of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries. Investigations are ongoing and we would urge anyone who saw the incident to contact us.”
