Rare earths miners see opportunity in US trade war

Trade tensions between the US and China are in the hands of the rare worlds of Australia.
Weapons and electronic components with difficult names such as Praseodymium and neodymium have become the center of a geopolitical ant between the two largest world powers.
The Rare Earths manufacturer, which is vertically integrated, offers an attractive opportunity for Australia strategic minerals.
The company on the ASX list is busy working to get the Dubbo mine ready for construction online, but it was already under water with orders for the South Korean processing facility.
China began when it retaliate for US tariffs by cutting off the tawal supply of rare soil minerals.
ASM General Manager Rowena Smith said in a statement on Monday that it was sending a call to wake up to American policy makers who realized that they should take control of supply chains.
“The Korean Metal Facility has experienced a major investigation flow in recent months since the restrictions imposed by China. So we are busy accelerating our facility.
Located 115 km south of Seoul, the facility is one of the few facilities that can refine the rare worlds except China to high -tech metals and alloys and are then converted into magnets necessary to make electronic devices.
In July, the US Department of Defense invested $ 400 million in Rare Earths Miner MP materials, including a generous -guaranteed price base per kilogram for neodimium and Praseododium.
The decision put a rocket under rare land prices and realized that the US government wanted to do business.
“We are currently talking to Dodanma support with Dodan about financing support, Smith said.
“What we see in the USA is that politics is extremely supported to put this facility into this field of judicial.
“And it is not only in the Trump administration – not federal – in fact, at the state level, we see a very strong competition for this facility to enter into its own judicial authority.”
Lynas, the largest producer of rare worlds other than China, is another Australian company that benefits from the determination of Americans to obtain the independence of supply chain.
The Perth -based company has been funded by DOD to build a processing facility that will contribute to its existing facilities in Malaysia and Kalgoorlie in Texas.
More details about the project will be announced on Tuesday morning when Lynas General Manager Development Alex Logan took the Diggers and dealers stage.
