Blast near Nalagarh police station in Himachal; no casualty reported

Residents of Nalagarh were in panic following an explosion near a police station in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Authorities stated that there was no loss of life and added that the investigation was continuing to determine the cause of the explosion.

The impact of the explosion, which took place in a lane near Nalagarh police station, was so strong that windows of nearby buildings were broken.

Local people said that the loud sound could be heard from a distance of up to 400-500 meters.

An eyewitness sitting nearby said that even 16 mm thick glass was broken and everything shook. Police set up a barricade in the area.

Authorities said the forensic team reached the scene to collect samples.
