Government to ‘stand firm’ against teen social media ban challenge

Communications Minister Anika Wells has vowed to “stand firm” in the face of the Supreme Court’s challenge to Australia’s social media ban on young people; because a parliamentary inquiry into the policy recommended that the ban be delayed for six months.

Wells addressed the issue on Wednesday and vowed to confront “threats and legal challenges” less than two weeks before the ban’s Dec. 10 start date.

“We won’t be afraid of threats, we won’t be afraid of big tech.
