Govt Aims to Make Schools Akin to Corporate Institutions: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is committed to developing government schools at par with corporate educational institutions, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Wednesday.
Speaking after the inauguration of Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) Science Center at ZP Girls’ High School at Alwal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Sridhar Babu said that the government is giving priority to education and health sectors while encouraging scientific inclination and creativity among students.
He said the government is creating an ecosystem to encourage innovation and support young people to transform ideas into products through social applications. He added that institutions such as T-Hub, T-Works and WE-Hub provide support to innovators.
Emphasizing the increasing importance of innovation and skills, the Minister called on students to develop a scientific perspective by questioning, exploring and seeking solutions to real-life problems.
Sridhar Babu appealed to the Foundation for Democratic Reforms to set up similar science centers in government schools across the state and assured that the government would support the initiative.
