Govt To Launch 45-Day Door-To-Door Outreach Campaign: Naidu

: Chief Minister and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday instructed leaders of the three-party alliance to conduct a 45-day door-to-door public campaign from Monday to highlight the government’s welfare and development initiatives.
Addressing party leaders and public representatives via teleconference, Naidu noted that the alliance received 57 percent of the popular votes and reached a strike rate of 94 percent. YSR attributed the Congress government’s dramatic decline from 151 assembly seats to just 11 seats to its own “wrong policies and governance failures”.
The Prime Minister said the government is now ensuring people-centred governance by taking decisions based on public opinion and welfare priorities.
With local elections on the horizon, Naidu urged all party leaders to work for the victory of alliance candidates in their constituencies. He instructed the booth meeting organizers, party committees and elected representatives to discharge their responsibilities with determination, maintain close contact with party workers and the public, and work with enthusiasm rather than pressure.
“We need leaders, not followers,” Naidu said, urging party functionaries to develop leadership qualities, resolve public grievances and gain people’s trust.
He asked them to visit each household, as they did during the election campaign, and explain how the coalition government was fulfilling its promises and implementing social assistance programmes. Leaders should also clarify doubts expressed by the public about government programs, he added.
The Chief Minister instructed ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and party cadres to actively participate in the outreach programme. He warned leaders against complacency and advised them to avoid actions that would alienate the public.
Naidu also asked party workers to publicize the government’s initiatives for youth welfare and explain how “axe party” policies are negatively affecting youth, according to the coalition. He emphasized that public support can be gained not only with money, but also by remaining accessible to the public and exposing the opposition’s policies.
Claiming that the opposition is trying to create divisions in society, Naidu said such efforts can be effectively countered through constant interaction with the public. He urged everyone from senior leaders to grassroots workers to stay connected with the public.
TD state president and MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao also urged party leaders and cadres to take the development and welfare achievements of the government directly to the people. The campaign will continue uninterruptedly for 45 days. He said party workers should explain the implementation of Super-6 promises and highlight the benefits to women, farmers, youth and students.
Srinivasa Rao also instructed the party workers to record the grievances and suggestions of the people during their visit and ensure that they are discussed with both the party and the government for appropriate action.
