Govt works on plan to deregulate licensing requirements to transform Delhi into an ‘investment destination’

An important proposal taken into consideration is the elimination of compulsory health trade, general trade and factory licenses given by MCD and NDMC.
The center also proposed to be exempted from registration separately within the scope of stores and establishment law managed by Delhi GOVT’s working department by Delhi GOVT within the scope of the working department of the GST or FSSAI.
The deregulation cell under the cabinet secretariat took a step to bring approvals from the FSSAI, GST, ESIC, Fire Department and Delhi Pollution Control Committee under a single -window system. Sources told the ToI that the center described them as “low -hanging fruits” that can be quickly “breaking” that can be broken “through executive orders or notifications without having to change the existing laws.

Authorities said that a recent presentation was made to the Prime Minister and that the lieutenant emphasized the reforms he has already introduced to facilitate business arrangements in Delhi. One of the reforms- GST-or FSSAI registered enterprises can be applied with a business department notification, exempt from the registration of compulsory stores and organization law.
To facilitate the process, he proposed to set the cell, MCD or NDMC as a knot agency for all work -related licenses. He suggested that applicants only visit an office for all approvals. He also proposed to transfer the authorities to manage FSSAI and weights and licenses to the civilian agency and to determine the MCD commissioner or the president of the NDMC as a food safety commissioner and legal metrology controller.
“Currently, any other license should be brought to MCD to provide a single contact point for the commercial activity discussed by Delhi Govt.” He said.
Recommendations said that these reforms will pave the way for a really effective single -window gap system. Lieutenant Governor, MCD, NDMC, FSSAI, GST, ESIC, EPF, fire services and all key stakeholders, including DPCC, were recommended to bring them to a combined platform to facilitate coordination.
