Grace Tame on why the NDIS overhaul is a missed opportunity

Funding for the NDIS will be reduced by $15 billion over the next four years, with the majority of savings coming from removing 160,000 people from the scheme.
The Albanian government’s justification for these cuts is the diminishing “social licence” of the program; Even supporters of the NDIS believe the system has been damaged by reports of provider corruption and criminal abuse of the system. So why did Health Minister Mark Butler’s overhaul focus on reducing the number of participants rather than examining waste on the business side of the programme?
Grace Tame joins the podcast to challenge what she believes is corporate media distortion that makes disabled people scapegoats for a poorly designed system.
