Grand National 2026: I Am Maximus wins at Aintree for trainer Willie Mullins

I Am Maximus became a two-time Grand National winner as trainer Willie Mullins claimed his third successive victory in the race at Aintree.
The 2024 winner and last year’s runner-up came into the race as a 9-2 favorite and backed that up by finishing ahead of Iroko, Jordans and Johnnywho.
The win means JP McManus becomes the leading team owner with four wins in the historic race; which backs up the victories of Don’t Push It in 2010, Minella Times in 2021 and I Am Maximus in 2024.
This was another date for I Am Maximus; as the victory made him the first heavyweight winner to win at 11st 12lbs since Red Rum carried him to victory at 12 stone in 1974.
