‘Grave concerns’ for missing baby after bodies of mother and toddler pulled from water
The bodies of a mother and her toddler were pulled from the ocean in South Australia; police have “serious concerns” for a baby who remains missing.
Emergency services are continuing to search for the missing baby, police said.
“The woman has been identified as a 36-year-old from Compton and the toddler is her child,” police said in a statement. he said.
“The search for a second missing baby continues and police have serious concerns for the child’s safety.”
State Emergency Services and police were called to an area off Cape Northumberland Road near Port MacDonnell at around 11.15am on Monday.
A car with a running engine was found west of Port MacDonnell.
“During subsequent investigations, police tragically discovered two bodies in the ocean,” police said.
