GST Intelligence freezes Rs 100 Crore For Illegal Online Gaming

Hyderabad: The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Hyderabad regional unit, on Thursday detected major illegal online gaming activities worth Rs 13,000 crore in Hyderabad and frozen bank accounts worth Rs 100 crore.

Authorities have also reportedly arrested one of the main suspects, Pankaj Kumar, founder and director of Adsum Advisory Services Limited, for providing assistance to illegal online gaming portals by illegally arranging KYC records from customers. The firm collected customers’ data and reportedly stored it illegally. Similarly, the accused firm made illegal payments from customers using online gaming portals and applications.
