Gujarat HC grants Asaram Bapu his ‘final’ bail extension

The Gujarat Supreme Court explicitly extended the temporary medical bail of his convicted Godman Asaram Bapu on Thursday, while he would make the last extension. 86-year-old is currently serving a life span to rape a female student from Ahmedabad Ashram between 2001-2006.

Iesh Vora and PM Raval, the chapter of the justice, rejected Asaram’s lawyer’s three -month extension request and gave only 30 days. This follows the previous temporary extension of the court between June 30 – July 7.

Asaram was given a three -month bail in March. The controversial spiritual leader was sentenced to 376 (2) (c) for rape in January 2023, 377 and 354 for unnatural crimes under many IPC departments for the attack for humility for anger. At the same time, he is sentenced to a separate lifetime imprisonment for the 2013 rape of a minor in Rajasthan Ashram.

The current guarantee extension is due to the March directive, which allows the Supreme Court to be released temporary medical release, and has a search for more than the Gujarat Supreme Court.
