Gujarat to host 3rd edition of Semiconnect Conference 2026 at Mahatma Mandir

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat will host the third edition of Gujarat Semiconnect Conference 2026 on March 1 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, a statement said.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Gujarat State Electronic Mission (GSEM). This global conference is inspired by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has placed semiconductors at the center of India’s growth agenda with his call for technological self-sufficiency.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel will inaugurate the event along with Union Minister of Electronics and IT, Railways and Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Minister for Science and Technology Arjun Modhwadia.

The theme of the conference, “Gujarat: India’s Gateway to Silicon”, reflects the state’s ambition to position itself as the pillar of India’s semiconductor ecosystem. With Gujarat’s robust infrastructure, industrial corridors and investor-friendly policies, the state is poised to play a key role in enhancing India’s semiconductor manufacturing and research capabilities. The event will bring together global semiconductor CEOs, policy makers and industry leaders to discuss strategies that will strengthen India’s position in the global value chain.

The conference will feature keynote speeches, thematic panels and international roundtables over two days. Day one will open with sessions on next-generation semiconductor research and manufacturing, logistics and export readiness for hubs such as Dholera and Sanand, financing through the GIFT International Financial Services Centre, and workforce development for future skills.

The discussions will also focus on strengthening India’s electronics base, from printed circuit boards to durable component ecosystems, the statement said. Parallel sessions will include the Micron Suppliers Roundtable, country-specific roundtables with Japan and Taiwan, and a seminar on education and outreach titled ‘From Silicon to Students: Building India’s Semiconductor Future’. On the second day, there will be a guided tour of Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), facilitated by GSEM, DICDL and Tata Electronics, giving delegates the opportunity to witness Gujarat’s ambitious infrastructure projects first-hand.
The conference was hosted by Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD, TEPL; Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of Micron Technology; CG Semi Chairman GC Chaturvedi; Ramesh Kunhikannan, Executive Vice President of Kaynes Technology; Ajit Manocha, CEO of SEMI; and Rao Tummala, Professor Emeritus at Georgia Tech. Their participation underscores global confidence in Gujarat’s semiconductor vision and the Prime Minister’s call for India to emerge as a leader in advanced technologies. Anchor Semiconductor Project Supporters such as Micron, Tata Electronics and Kaynes Semicon and knowledge partners such as JETRO (Japan), KOTRA (Korea), Invest India, India Semiconductor Mission, SEMI, IESA, ELCINA, ICEA and MEDEPC have extended their support to this initiative.

Their participation highlights the international cooperation and national momentum that Gujarat has supported under the Prime Minister’s guidance and the Chief Minister’s leadership.

Gujarat Semiconnect Conference 2026 is expected to be a landmark event paving the way for India’s semiconductor growth. The synergy of the Prime Minister’s vision of technological self-reliance and the Prime Minister’s determination to make Gujarat a hub of innovation and investment will demonstrate that India is poised to become a leader in the global semiconductor industry. As the theme suggests, Gujarat invites global chip manufacturers and local industries, entrepreneurs and students to contribute to this transformative journey.
