Six people, including two children, were injured in a mass shooting in Maryland early Saturday, according to local authorities.

But the scope of violence expanded rapidly.

Throughout the morning, detectives were notified by three different hospitals in the area that multiple victims had walked in to receive treatment for gunshot wounds.

MARYLAND HIGH SCHOOL LOCKED AFTER SHOOTING, ONE PERSON INJURED

The other five victims who walked in included a woman with a gunshot wound to the extremity, two boys with lower extremity injuries, and a man and woman with lower extremity injuries, according to police.

Officials confirmed that all victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Detectives are interviewing victims to determine what happened during this incident,” the department said. “This investigation is active and more details will be released once the investigation is concluded.”

It was unclear if any arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.

Hanover is located approximately 25 miles south of downtown Baltimore and approximately 30 miles northeast of Washington, DC.
